GOVERNMENT MISSION TO VIETNAM: MAY 1984
GENERAL COMMENTS
Initially I was quite sceptical about the mission to Vietnam in 1984. Was it a whitewash?
Perhaps the message from the Joint Casualty Resolution Center (JCRC) Bangkok to the Commander JCRC Hawaii at 071135Z May 84 may throw some light on the expectations of the group. 1
The message was then sent to CILHI at 071800Z May 84.

Here we see Mr Holloway asking for assistance with ID of any remains that may be handed over.

Here information is sought regarding Mr Graeme Lewis.
Unfortunately, as you read the report by the delegation you will see that they were not given all that much assistance while in Vietnam. In the case of Gillespie and the Herbert and Carver case, they were kept well away from th incident sites. They were certainly not offered any remains.
